Scouting Report: Atchison was acquired by the Red Sox as a minor league free agent in December 2007, but shortly thereafter the Red Sox sold his rights to the Hanshin Tigers.  He pitched quite well for Hanshin during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.  Atchison possesses an 88-91 mph fastball, a mid-80s slider, and a seldom-used 77 mph curveball.   Good control.
