Physical Description: Filled-out, medium frame. Considerably heavier than listed weight.
Proportional frame.
Mechanics: Throws
from a low three-quarters arm slot. Starts on the third base
side of the rubber. Effortful, jerky delivery with some
deception. Can have issues finding a consistent release point.
Fastball: 92-95 mph. Plays up some due to
deception. Can generate swinging strikes on occasion, mostly
against left-handed batters. Command and control still could use
refinement. Has the tendency to nibble against right-handed
hitters. Velocity drops as he works deeper into games. Potential
above-average offering.
Changeup: 82-84
mph. Good separation from his fastball. Pitch shows late fade
and drop. Can really pull the string on it when it is at its
best. Effective against right-handed hitters. Potential average
offering.

Slider: 79-81 mph. Primary secondary pitch
against left-handed hitters. Long, horizontal shape. Will sweep
down and out of the zone at times. Potential fringe-average
offering.
Career Notes:
Drafted and signed as a starter but moved to the bullpen after
struggling early in his career. Spent seven seasons in the
Seattle organization.
Summation:
Projects as an up-and-down, left-handed specialist. Ceiling of a
low-leverage, left-handed reliever. Has had substantial platoon
splits in his minor league career, but changeup looks improved
and could provide him with a pitch to get right-handed hitters out.
Needs to improve strike-throwing against hitters from both sides
to reach the majors and stick there.
Note: This page
will be updated with a complete scouting report after the
scouting team has seen the player in regular season game action.
