				| | Scouting Report
				& Links | | | |
				| | | | | |
				| | Physical Description:

Right-handed reliever with a solid frame. Thick lower half. No
				remaining projection. Bulldog mentality.
 Mechanics:
Over-the-top delivery. Lots of effort on the arm. Medium leg
kick. Falls noticeably to the first base side post-release.

 Fastball:

Relies heavily on a four-seam fastball that sits 94-97 mph.
Throws the pitch about two-thirds of the time. Unspectacular
command. Pitch lacks great movement. Mixes in an occasional
sinker around the same velocity which generates more
				groundballs than swings and misses.

Slider: Primary secondary pitch is an 85-87 mph
slider. Has a bit of two-plane movement. Generates swings and
				misses.

Changeup: 86-89 mph. Show-me pitch without much
usage. Has some armside fade and slight downward action.

 | | Career
				Notes:

Was a catcher in high school, started pitching in 2007 at JuCo
D1 Weatherford College. Drafted in the sixth round in 2007, four
spots after Boston took Anthony Rizzo. Posted decent numbers in
the AFL in 2010. Got a cup of coffee with the Angels in 2013.
Underwent Tommy John Surgery in March 2014 and missed almost two
entire seasons. Signed with Oakland as a free agent in July
2015. Recieved an NRI to major league camp in 2016 spring
training. Spent that entire season in Triple-A, only to get
released in December 2016. Went on to pitch well in Japan in
2017 at the age of 29. Signed with Boston in the spring of 2018
and ended up excelling in the majors by the end of the season.
Known for telling Gary Sanchez to "get back in the $%&* box" in
the 2018 ALCS, and then striking him out. Member of 2018 World
Series championship team. Struggled for significant parts of
2022 and at the start of 2023 before being released in May 2023.
 Summation:

Profiles as a solid middle reliever. Control issues could keep him
from ending up as a high leverage setup man.
