Scouting Report: Chen played junior ball in Taiwan with Che-Hsuan Lin. Very good defensive catcher, calls a good game. Above average arm, mediocre pop times, solid receiving skills. Advanced for his age. Line drive hitter, some power potential but not a ton. High leg kick timing step going into his swing - almost has that stereotypical slap hitting approach as you see from a lot of young Japanese players. Fairly raw offensively. Small frame for a catcher.
