  Scouting Report & Links

Physical Description: Filled-out right-hander with minimal remaining projection. Has already grown since signing and seen athleticism regress some. Quick feet, still athletic for a pitcher.

Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm slot. Starts on the third base side and does not utilize a wind-up. Medium leg kick. Arm-heavy delivery with effort. Trunk twist and long arm action with a hook and stab behind. Could stand to do a better job repeating his delivery.

Fastball: 90-92 mph. Tops out at 94. Average life. Fringy command and control profile. Could stand to add velocity. Fringe-average potential.

Slider: 79-82 mph. Sweepy shape. Average spin rate. Gets over the ball and can snap it off. Has shown the ability to land the pitch in the zone. Average potential.

Changeup: 83-85 mph. On the firmer side, but has shown ability to command the pitch. On occasion will show drop and deceptive arm speed. Fringe-average potential.
Career Notes: Signed with the Royals for $147,500 when he turned 16 on July 6, 2018. Primarily played shortstop growing up, but converted to pitching shortly before signing. Was acquired as a player-to-be-named-later from Kansas City in the Andrew Benintendi trade. 2021 numbers are skewed heavily by a single, terrible outing (0.2 IP, 6 ER), as well as about a month missed at least in part due to rainouts on what were likely a number of his scheduled starts. Participated in the Fall Performance Program in 2021.

Summation: Potential minor league depth arm. Ceiling of an organizational arm. Future projection is fluid right now. Present stuff is on the pedestrian side, but has shown solid feel. Has the athleticism you look for in a pitcher and frame to add weight. How his stuff develops as he physically matures will determine future profile.
