Scouting Report: Fantastic athlete - has quick wrists and top-notch speed. Built like a running back. Trying to develop a patient and disciplined approach, but progress is coming along very slowly. A little too aggressive at the plate, fails to work counts. Doesn't make great contact. When he gets on base, Dent is a superb base runner, getting nice jumps on the basepaths. Good strength for his size and speed. Likely better suited for second base, but also has the range to play center field if need be. In the field, Dent has an average-to-below-arm and excellent range. His glove and footwork, which were subpar upon entering the organization, have improved tremendously over the past couple years. His defense is now considered an asset, and he took home the Red Sox Minor League Defensive Player of the Year in 2009.
