Scouting Report: Fernandez surprised many scouts with his dominant VSL performance in 2005, but hasn't shown the same success through 2008.   He has the potential to be a five-tool player, but he is still raw and struggling to make adjustments, even at the lower levels.  Makes excellent contact, probably his best asset.  In the outfield, Fernandez went through bouts where he looked lost in the field.  He'll see time at 1B in 2008; initially he's made the routine plays, but was unable to dig out poor throws and turn them into outs.
