  Scouting Report & Links      
         
  Physical Description: Small to medium athletic frame. Filled out in the lower half, still has some room to add strength in the upper half.

Hit: Contact-oriented gap hitter. Solid plate discipline and pitch recognition. Controls the bat well, has excellent instincts.

Power: Below-average power.

Run: Above-average runner. Base stealing is not a major part of his game.

Field: Plays all three outfield positions well. Also able to play second base, shortstop, and third base in a pinch.

Arm: Average to better arm in the outfield. 		  Career Notes: Son of former MLB relief pitcher Mark Guthrie. Grew up around the game. Three year starter at Florida. Underwent ulnar nerve transposition surgery in the fall of 2016. Spent seven seasons in the Phillies' system. Traded to San Fran in 2023 for cash considerations. Claimed off waivers by Atlanta in July 2023. Signed a minor league deal with Boston in February 2024, invited to MLB spring training.

Summation: Quality MLB insurance player able to fill in as a 4th outfielder or utility player for an extended period of time.
