Scouting Report: Local product from Milton, Massachusetts via Duke. A two-way player, Hassan was drafted as a pitcher but impressed enough in the Cape Cod League in 2009 that the Sox decided that he may be better suited as an outfielder. Great frame. Hits from an open stance that he completely closes on pitch approach. A lot of movement in the box and in his approach. Swing is a little long, but he shows impressive bat speed. Sits back on breaking pitches well, but will need to work on catching up with high velocity stuff. Also needs to work his lower body into his swing a little more. Average speed. Above average defender with a strong and accurate arm.
