Scouting Report: Jimenez has the frame and athleticism of a basketball player.  He's very athletic and rangy in the field, and his glove is about average.  Jimenez can also play 1B and has practiced some at SS.   Adequate arm by second hand accounts. At the plate, Jimenez makes excellent contact and has a nice disciplined approach.  Doesn't strike out much.  Not much present power, and probably won't be a powerful slugger long-term, but could have 15 HR potential. Power probably needs to improve at least to that level if he wants to make the majors as a 3B.  However, power is not his forte - his best tools are his contact, his approach, and his athleticism.  Mediocre speed on the basepaths, but decent speed for his size.  Jimenez impressed in spring training in 2008, and as such he skipped low-A to play against age-appropriate competition in 2008.  There have been a few reports that Jimenez is lackadaisical  in he field and on the basepaths, focusing too much on his hitting.
