	  Scouting Scratch: Late-round 2017 draftees (8.28.17)
 Released (March 2019)
 |

Physical Description: Undersized with no remaining physical
	  projection.
 Mechanics: Throws from a
three-quarters arm slot. Simple, repeatable delivery with short arm
	  action. Likes to work quickly.

 Fastball: 84-87
mph, tops out at 88 mph. Throws strikes and is able to consistently keep
the ball down. The offering has sink, resulting in a lot contact.

Changeup: 79-81 mph. Feel and confidence in offering.
Deceptive arm speed and late drop. Best secondary.

 Slider:
80-82 mph with 10-to-4 shape. Short, lacks depth.

 Career
Notes: Undrafted free agent who had no plans to play baseball at
the professional level prior to a standout performance in the NCAA
Tournament for Davidson. Was originally planning to attend pharmacy school
	  after College.

 Summation: Projects as a useful
back end minor league depth arm. Stuff doesn’t standout, but knows how to
pitch and throws strikes. Should be able to provide serviceable innings at
any level in the low minors for as long as he wants to continue in pro
ball. Was already called up to High-A when they needed a starter during
the 2017 season, jumping directly from Lowell.
