Scouting Report: Rail-thin righty starter put up mediocre numbers in the DSL in 2006, but impressed in the GCL in 2007. His delivery is a bit inconsistent and he can drop down to a 3/4 slot from time-to-time, getting under the ball. When he comes over the top with his fastball, it has decent life and a little bit of downward tilt. Fastball sits around 88-90 mph, tops out at 94 mph in shorter stints. Also throws an over-the-top 68-72 mph curveball that is not much to speak of at this point. Good control and command. Needs to put on some weight. Also needs to work on maintaining a consistent delivery point and keeping his shoulder from flying open. Tends to leave his fastball up in the zone too much.
