Physical Description:
Undersized with minimal remaining projection. Athletic, moves
well on the mound.
Mechanics: Throws
from a three-quarters arm slot starting on the first base side
of the rubber. Good extension. Medium leg kick. Controlled
delivery. Short arm action with a hook behind. Deception in
delivery, hides the ball well behind his body.
Fastball: 91-94 mph. Tops out at 96 mph. Velocity drops
and control wanes as he works deeper into games. Pitch has
characteristics teams look for, including solid induced vertical
break. Command and control need work. Tends to miss down with
the fastball when he tries to get more velocity. Can be wild at
times and walks too many hitters. Potential average pitch.
Changeup: 81-83 mph. Throws with the same
arm speed as his fastball. Shows drop and fade. Advanced feel
and confidence. Capable of missing bats against right-handed
hitters. Potential above-average offering.
Slider: 80-82 mph. Sweeper-ish breaking ball with
horizontal break. Good movement profile in conjunction with his
north/south fastball/changeup combination. Can struggle to
locate it and gets on the side of it too often. Potential
fringe-average offering. |

Cutter: Newish pitch that he threw a few times
late in 2023 and really refined during the offseason. Already
showing solid feel and confidence in it.
Career
Notes: Attended three different colleges during his
three years of college baseball. Started at Southeast Louisiana
before transferring to Division III Jones College and eventually
ending up at Southern Mississippi. Participated in the 2021 Cape
Cod League. Was set to participate in the 2022 Fall Performance
Program that was canceled due to Hurricane Ian. Participated in
the 2023 Fall Performance Program.
Summation:
Potential left-handed reliever. Ceiling of a multi-inning bridge
arm. Fastball and changeup are intriguing, but improving his
command and control and developing consistency with his
secondary pitches are keys for him to reach his potential. Not
overpowering, so will have to locate. Undersized and his stuff
and command tend to degrade as the game goes on. Stuff grades
out well analytically and is appealing for model-driven teams.
