Physical Description: Tall, long frame. Minimal remaining projection. Long torso, below-average athlete.

Hit: Starts square, but steps closed. Toe tap timing device. Brings the bat up and down quickly and ends in a good hitting position. Simple, smooth swing mechanics. Understands the strike zone, but has swing-and-miss in his game. Quick wrists, average bat speed. Has feel for hit and will use all fields. Direct to the ball, likes to get extended and drive the ball to left field. Bat will be tested by velocity.

Power: Fringe-average raw power. Projects for well below-average game power. Over-the-fence power primarily to the pull side. Likes the ball down and in.

Arm: Average arm strength.

Field: Corner outfield profile. Below-average range. Makes the routine plays, steady performer. Doesn’t have the foot speed or range to play center field. Projects as an average defender.

Run: Below-average speed. Runs stiff and upright. Not a part of his game.

Career Notes: Led Division 1 in hitting in 2016, playing in the Sun Belt Conference. Participated in 2016 Fall Instructional League.

Summation: Projects as a solid organizational type. Bat could carry him to the high minors, but lacks the juice to carry him all the way to the big leagues. Won’t add much defensive value so will have to hit to stick in pro ball.
