Scouting Report: Athletic infielder with above average speed, a reliable glove, and excellent arm strength. At the plate, Thompson makes excellent contact, hitting to all fields with gap power. Thompson was considered the top prep player out of Tennessee in 2009, and one of the top 100 high school prospects in the nation. Had committed to play at Louisville. Injured his hamstring late in the 2009 season and was not able to participate in summer ball.
