Scouting Report:
Tall and
lanky righty, switched to sidearm delivery in spring 2007. Fastball
sits around 84-87 mph with excellent sinking movement. Changeup doesn't
have a lot of separation, sitting around 79-81 mph. Also mixes in
a nice frisbee slider that sits between 71-75 mph, which can get slurvey at
times. Solid pitchability - knows how to works his pitches against
lefties and righties. Has improved his success against lefties over
time, an area where he had struggled in the past. Likes to work quickly, and throws a lot of strikes.
Induces a lot of ground-outs. Good mound presence. Very
personable. The organization loves Vaquedano's stuff, further demonstrated by the
fact that he's hung around the system for eight seasons.
