  Scouting Report & Links

Physical Description: Tall, high-waisted. Still has some projection despite already being in professional baseball for five seasons.

Hit: Solid bat control, line drive swing from both sides of the plate. Good strke zone awareness. Lacks ability to make adjustments over the couse of a game. Makes weak contact.

Power: Potential is there to develop into a 10-15 home run hitter, but has yet to really demonstrate that level of in-game power over five minor league seasons. Present power is below-average.

Run: Average runner, but will not generally be a stolen base threat.

Field: Quick first step, impressive footwork, solid range. Soft hands. Reliable at shortstop, second base, and third base. Advanced for his age. Profiles as an average defender at all three positions.

Arm: Average arm.
Career Notes: Given a large bonus in 2014, particularly compared to other Panamanian amateurs. Traded to Houston in 2015 in a seven-player deal that included Ken Giles. Suspended for 50 games in 2017 after testing positive for a stimulant. Has struggled offensively at High-A and Double-A ball. Has been one of the youngest players in his league at every level of his career. Acquitted himself relatively well in the Major Leagues in 2020 despite having very little high minors experience.

Summation: Utility man potential. Still young with developmental opportunities depsite already having five pro seaons under his belt. Needs to add strength and put more charge into the ball on offense in order to excel at higher levels.
