Physical Description: Average frame with some
physical projection. Solid athlete.
Mechanics:
Throws from a three-quarters arm slot. Medium leg kick. Short
stride. Controlled delivery. Starts on the first base side of
the rubber, stepping towards the first base dugout to start his
delivery. Shorter arm action in which he hides the ball behind
and then is quick coming forward. Needs to work on consistently
repeating his delivery.
Fastball: 93-95
mph. Topped out at 97 mph in the past, but has not shown that
velocity in outings scouted in-person in 2023. Pitch lacks
movement and is hittable. Well below-average command. Potential
average pitch with refinement.
Changeup:
84-88 mph. Advanced feel and confidence. Has shown the ability
to pull the string on it with the pitch falling off with late
drop and fade. Will throw in any count, especially against
left-handed hitters. Potential above-average offering.
Curveball: 81-84 mph.11-to-5 shape with average
depth. Solid feel. Will throw frequently, especially early in
the count to get ahead. Needs to find more consistency with it.
Sometimes blends with his slider and the two can look like the
same pitch. Potential average offering.

Slider: 85-88 mph. Tighter, gyro-spin breaking
ball with 10-to-4 shape. Can look cutterish at times.
Inconsistent feel and command, but flashes being a bat-missing
pitch. Potential average offering.
Career Notes:
Participated in the 2021 Fall Performance Program. Missed two
weeks in early May 2022 with a minor, undisclosed injury. Did
not pitch in the final two weeks of the 2022 season, but unclear
whether that was due to injury or the organization being
comfortable with his season workload and shutting him down to
make room for FCL call-ups. Had something of a breakout 2023
season in Greenville, earning an August promotion to Portland.
Summation: Potential multi-inning relief
arm. Ceiling of a back-end starter. Right now, lacks the
fastball quality and command to stick as a starting pitcher.
Secondary pitches are ahead of fastball with changeup and
breaking ball both showing bat-missing potential. Needs to
further refine his two breaking balls, which can run into each
other at times.
