Physical Description: Tall, athletic frame with
some remaining projection. Looks the part, has the room to add
strength without impacting his athleticism.
Hit:
Starts slightly open with his hands high. Had some pre-pitch
hand movement in the past, but cut down on it heading into 2024.
Utilizes a toe-tap timing device. Good separation in his swing.
Quick hands, solid bat speed. Not the most fluid swing. Has the
tendency to get long to the ball and get under it, resulting in
a lot of weak popups. Will work counts and has some feel for the
strike zone, but is still developing his approach. Will expand
the zone against offspeed pitches, but has shown a willingness
to take a walk. Is aggressive when he gets ahead in the count
hunting fastballs he can hit. Ball makes a different sound when
he squares it up. Will go to all fields. Hits the ball hard and
was already producing major league-quality exit velocities as a
teenager, but tendency to get under the ball has tended to pull
down exit velocity metrics in full-season ball. Has struggled
more against velocity as he has moved up the ladder. Still has a
ways to go in developing his approach and has a wide variance of
potential outcomes at the plate, but shows the raw tools to
develop a below-average hit tool.
Power:
Will show plus raw power in batting practice. As he physically
matures, could add even more raw power. Has already shown the
ability to impact the baseball in games as well. Hits the ball
extremely hard and can drive the ball with backspin. Shows the
makings of all-fields power. Batting practice is very impressive
when he lets it fly. Hit tool variance clouds long-term power
potential, as there are questions if he will make enough contact
to tap into that power. Potential for above-average game power
at his peak.
Run: Plus speed. Plays
faster than he grades out due to his athleticism and agility.
Moves effortlessly. Covers ground extremely quickly.
Field: Shows good instincts and reads in center
field. Plus range. Takes long strides and glides to the ball.
Projects to stick in center field, where he could be a plus
defender.
Arm: Above-average arm
strength. Plenty of arm for center field. |

Career Notes: Received the largest bonus in the Red Sox
January 2021 international free agent class. Missed the first
two weeks of the 2021 season for undisclosed reasons.
Participated in the 2021 Fall Performance Program. Scouts
praised him as the best position player in the FCL during the
2022 season. Would have received a late promotion to Salem in
2022, but was held back at the complex due to a lower back issue
and ultimately did not move up. Entered 2023 as a consensus top
100 prospect in the game. Missed time in May and June 2023 due
to a left shoulder subluxation before undergoing season-ending
surgery in June. Participated in the 2023 Fall Performance
Program. Prospect stock slid some entering 2024, ranking on some
Top 100 lists. Entered spring training in 2024 in tremendous
shape, with the organization very happy with the work he had put
in while rehabbing his shoulder and preparing for the season.
Started 2024 Spring Breakout game. Missed time in 2024 with
several minor injuries/medical issues, including a root canal
and a finger sprain suffered while sliding. Started in the 2025
Spring Breakout and Futures at Fenway South games. Began 2025
dealing with a quad injury.
Summation:
Potential fourth outfielder who brings speed, defense and some
power. Ceiling of an everyday regular capable of adding value in
all facets of the game. Highest-variance prospect in the system
with a wide range of potential outcomes. Major questions with
his hit tool cloud future projection. Really struggled in 2024
after a promotion to Greenville, where he looked overmatched at
times at the plate. Injuries have slowed down development
considerably, as he missed most of 2023 with a shoulder injury
and had several short injury/health-related absences in 2024
that led to roughly 20 games missed. That he was injured again
to start 2025 does little to address health-related questions.
At his best, will check all the boxes you look for in a prospect
his age, and if he reaches his potential, all five tools could
grade at least as average, but his highest variance tool is his
hit tool, which makes him extremely risky. Swing easily gets out
of sync and has not translated to on-field production since
2022.
