Scouting Report: Lanky right-hander.  Polished. Fastball sits in the low 90s, also mixes in a 73-76 mph curveball. Clean mechanics.  Boston scouted Broughton out of high school, but he was drafted by Milwaukee.  Passed on pro ball, and ended up in independent ball after four years at Ball State. The Sox then purchased his contract in June 2010.
