Physical Description:
Small,
compact frame. Average athlete. Well developed physique for his
age. Very strong lower half and muscular upper body. Minimal
remaining projection.
Hit: Starts
slightly open with his hands high. Quick wrists, violent swing.
Does not get cheated and really whips the bat through the zone
with impressive bat speed, especially for his age. Has one of
the quickest bats in the system, but has a raw, aggressive
approach. Looks to attack early in counts. Excellent hand-eye
coordination and bat control. Will expand the zone, especially
against offspeed pitches, and has a hard time recognizing
secondaries. Improving pitch recognition and approach will be
crucial for his development. Highly volatile hit tool that
potentially grades as average.
Power:
Plus raw power with the potential for more as he physically
matures. Already producing solid exit velocities and hard-hit
rates for his age. Power is primarily to the pull side right
now. Above-average game power.
Run:
Below-average speed. Already not the most fleet of foot and
likely to slow down even more as he matures.
Field: Average instincts, but fringy range. Does not
move laterally with fluidity and footwork gets choppy when he
has to charge or move back on a ball. Will make the routine
plays. Spent time at both second base and shortstop in 2024, but
looks best suited for second base long term. Some evaluators who
saw him in 2024 have speculated he might struggle to stick on
the infield and is best suited in left-field long term. Played
primarily second base in games scouted during Spring Training
2025.
Arm: Average arm strength. Not a stand-out arm
and needs to improve consistency with his throws. Passable at
short, solid for second base. |

Career Notes: Received the largest bonus in the
Red Sox January 2023 IFA class. Per reports, was considered by
some scouts to be one of the best pure hitters in his IFA class.
Named to the 2024 Spring Breakout roster but did not play. Was
promoted to Salem in late June 2024, but was scratched from the
lineup in his first game with hand soreness and placed on the
injured list just over a week later. Was ultimately diagnosed
with a broken hamate bone that required surgery, ending his
season. Participated in the 2025 Spring Breakout and Futures at
Fenway South games, starting in the latter.
Summation: Potential bat-first utility player, but is a
high-variance prospect with considerable risk. Ceiling of an
everyday regular. Will show intriguing offensive tools and
upside at the plate, but needs to improve pitch recognition and
approach to reach his offensive potential and his defensive
profile lags behind. Very unlikely to stick at shortstop
long-term, putting more pressure on his bat as he moves down the
defensive spectrum. Not a lock to stick in the infield. Was one
of the most advanced hitters in the DSL in 2023, with scouts
expressing confidence in his long-term offensive upside, and
carried that performance over to the FCL in 2024 prior to his
injury.
Note: This page will be updated with a
scouting report after the scouting team has seen the player in
regular season game action.
