Physical Description: Athletic
frame with some remaining projection. Has gotten considerably
stronger since he joined the system.
Hit:
Starts slightly open and utilizes a big leg kick. Really
utilizes his core and gets his hips into his swing.
Fringe-average bat. Solid approach for his age. Works counts,
does not miss in the zone often and does not chase. Able to keep
up with good velocity. Struggles against off-speed stuff. Subpar
splits against lefties. Potential below-average hit tool.
Power: Plus raw power. Has shown the
ability to drive the ball with backspin, especially to the pull
side. How power actualizes in the future will depend on how much
contact he makes. Potential average in game power.
Run: Fringe-average speed. Likely to lose more
speed as he physically matures.
Field:
Played shortstop in high school, but profiles best at third base
long-term. Smooth actions and soft hands, but range is his
biggest question mark and will keep from sticking up the middle.
Comfortable charging the ball and throwing on the run. Potential
above-average defensive profile at third base and below-average
at shortstop. |

Arm: Plus arm. Was up to 94 mph on the mound in
high school. Plenty of arm for the left side of the infield.
Career Notes: Was committed to the
University of Texas. Was a potential two-way prospect entering
his senior year, throwing in the low 90s with a mid-80s slider,
but established himself as an infield prospect by the time of
the draft. Was set to participate in the 2022 Fall Performance
Program that was canceled due to Hurricane Ian.
Summation: Potential up-and-down, bat-first bench
player. Ceiling of a fringe utility player. Wide range of
outcomes depending on how his hit tool develops. Power-over-hit
profile at third base, but could add more positional versatility
in the future. Has considerable swing-and-miss in his game and
could struggle against more advanced pitching. Could add
defensive value at third base, where he is solid, and could be
passable at shortstop if he does not get too much bigger.
