  Scouting Report & Links

Physical Description: Average frame. Minimal remaining projection. Strong upper body.

Hit: Starts slightly open and vertical with his hands high. Uses a leg lift timing device. Swing can get long. Fringe-average bat speed. Pitch recognition is poor. Really struggles recognizing spin and making contact against breaking balls. Most comfortable hitting fastballs. Will cheat in order to get out on them, but when he makes contact, it tends to be loud. Swing has a slight uppercut. Will take a walk. In the early stages of developing an approach. Struggles to make adjustments and can get very pull-happy. Produces impressive exit velocities when he makes contact. Potential well below-average hit tool.

Power: Plus raw power, especially to the pull side. Flashed raw power in initial season with Lowell, but lack of contact skills limits his in-game power potential. Can make pitchers pay for making mistakes with fringy velocity. When he squares it up, can really drive the ball. Potential fringe-average game power.

Run: Fringe-average speed. Moves pretty well when he gets going.
Field: Profiles as a corner outfielder. Lacks the speed for center field. Initial reads are a little slow at times, but shows average defensive potential in the corners.

Arm: Average arm strength.

Career Notes: Drafted in the 29th round of the 2016 draft by the Orioles, but attended Florida rather than sign. Participated in the Fall Instructional League in 2019 and 2020. Spent time on the injured list in 2022 after colliding with the outfield wall making a catch.

Summation: Projects as a minor league depth outfielder. Exit velocities are intriguing, but inconsistent contact skills and limited defensive value greatly limit his ceiling. Will need to make major strides at the plate in order to have success against more advanced pitching.
