  Scouting Report & Links      
         
  Physical Description: Medium frame, physically filled out. Sturdy lower half.

Mechanics: Effortful low three-quarters delivery. Slinging motion. Quick release. Turns head to first base side at release point.

Fastball: 89-91 mph sinker with heavy drop and armside run. Misses bats. Uses the pitch about 40% of the time. Also mixes in an occasional low-90s four-seam fastball with some tail.

Slider: 88-90 mph with sweeping horizontal movement. Mixes in the pitch about 40% of the time.

Changeup: 79-82 mph with sinking action. Show me pitch.

  Career Notes: Elite prep prospect in 2013. Passed on attending Florida to sign with the White Sox after being drafted in the second round. Dominated through A-Ball. Arguably rushed to the majors in 2016. Struggled in limited major league opportunities in 2016 to 2018. Signed with Boston in 2022 with an invitation to spring training and made the team out of spring training as something of a surprise. Remained on the 40-man roster for the entire season before being outrighted and electing free agency in late October.

Summation: Once a highly-touted prospect, still relatively young for a minor league free agent. Boston may tweak his pitch mix. Reclamation project with back end of the bullpen potential.
