Physical Description: Physical
Description: Average frame, no remaining projection. Large lower
half.
Mechanics: Three-quarters arm
slot, easy repeatable delivery with some deception. Medium leg
kick, balanced landing. Decent control.
Fastball:
93-95 mph sinker with arm-side run. Relies on movement more than
velocity. Below-average command. Has moved away from four-seam
fastball in adjusting to current sinker/sweeper profile, but may
reincorporate the pitch in order to attack left-handed hitters
at the top of the zone.
Cutter:
High-80s. Minimal break. Could perhaps be worked into a harder,
true cutter and/or gyro slider.
Sweeper:
Low-80s. Big, horizontal break. Flashes average.
Curveball: High-70s. 11-to-5 break. Has not thrown
often but may incorporate more in order to attack left-handed
hitters. Fringe-average pitch.

Changeup: Mid-80s show-me pitch. Lacks feel,
has some deception. Below-average pitch.
Career
Notes: Had Tommy John surgery in March 2018. Worked as
a starter from 2019 to 2023. Traded to Colorado in 2021. Had
brief call-ups with the Rockies in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Has
worked out at Driveline during the offseason the last three
offseasons. Signed by Boston as a minor league free agent in
December 2024.
Summation: Organizational
arm. Potential short-term major league emergency depth. Works
horizontally with sinker/sweeper combination, but will likely
look to improve four-seam and curveball in order to give a more
vertical attack look to left-handed hitters. Stands to benefit
from getting out of the Colorado organization so that movement
profile will be more consistent when not pitching at altitude.
Note: This page will be
updated with a complete scouting report after the scouting team
has seen the player in person.
