Physical Description: Average
frame, no remaining projection. Large lower half.
Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm
slot, starting on the third base side of the rubber. Arm-heavy
delivery with some deception. Medium leg kick, balanced landing.
Fastball: 90-92 mph sinking fastball.
Tops out at 95 mph. Relies on movement more than velocity.
Fringe-average command and average control. Has moved away from
four-seam fastball in adjusting to current sinker/sweeper
profile, but Red Sox may look to reincorporate the pitch in
order to attack left-handed hitters at the top of the zone.
Cutter: 86-88 mph. Short, horizontal break.
Sweeper: 77-79 mph. Long, horizontal
break. Frisbee-type pitch with a high spin rate. Best-looking
secondary that flashes average potential.
Changeup: 81-83 mph. Has some splitterish
characteristics. Late dive down in the zone and low spin rate.

Career
Notes: Had Tommy John surgery in March 2018. Worked as
a starter from 2019 to 2023. Traded to Colorado in 2021. Had
brief call-ups with the Rockies in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Has
worked out at Driveline during the offseason the last three
offseasons. Signed by Boston as a minor league free agent in
December 2024 and received an invitation to major league Spring
Training.
Summation: Potential
organizational arm. Ceiling of a short-term major league
emergency depth arm. Works horizontally with sinker/sweeper
combination, but will likely look to tweak arsenal in order to
give a more vertical attack look to left-handed hitters who have
given him trouble in the past. Stands to benefit from getting
out of the Colorado organization so that movement profile will
be more consistent when not pitching at altitude.
