Career Notes: Originally drafted
by the Dodgers in 2013. Was traded to Tampa Bay in January 2017
in exchange for Logan Forsythe. Was a consensus Top 40 prospect
in the game in 2016 and 2017. Missed time in 2017 with forearm,
lat, and elbow injuries. Underwent Tommy John surgery in March
2018. Was traded to Cincinnati ahead of the 2019 Rule 5 Draft as
Tampa looked to clear room on its 40-man in exchange for cash.
Was released by the Reds in July 2021 and signed with Boston in
August 2021, spending his short stint with the team in Fort
Myers before leaving as a minor league free agent. Re-signed
with the organization in March 2025.
Summation: Potential
up-and-down middle reliever. Has the stuff to develop into a
solid major league relief arm, but needs to show consistency and
improved command. Raw stuff is very intriguing. Nice project
signing to see if getting him into a new organization, with
different voices, unlocks his talent.
