Physical Description: Average
frame with minimal remaining projection.
Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm slot.
Unique arm action that generates a lot of deception. Hooks arm
behind and hides the ball well. Gets solid extension.
Fastball: 92-94 mph. Tops out at 95 mph. Good
command and control. Fastball plays above its velocity due to
carry and deception. Gets swinging strikes up in the zone, at
least so far in the low minors. Saw a solid uptick in velocity
over the course of the 2024 season, sitting 90-92 early in the
season. Potential fringe-average pitch despite below-average
velocity, but increase during 2024 season gives some hope he can
improve in that respect over a full season..
Cutter: 84-86 mph. Added the pitch in pro ball. Clear
work in progress.
Changeup: 80-82 mph.
Best secondary pitch. Thrown with deceptive arm speed and good
separation from his fastball. Has good feel and confidence in
the pitch. Shows late fade. Potential above-average pitch.
Slider: 80-85 mph. More horizontal, 10-to-4
break. Sharp when he snaps it off but is inconsistent.
Below-average spin rate, but does a good job sequencing the
pitch.

Curveball: 77-80 mph. Sharp, 11-to-5 break when
he snaps it off, but does not do so consistently. Mostly throws
outside the zone looking for chases.
Career
Notes: Father, Phil, pitched for the Rookie affiliate of
the Kansas City Athletics in 1964. Younger brother, Aaron, is
a pitcher at Canisius now entering his senior season. Also
played volleyball and basketball in high school. Was committed
to transfer to South Carolina for the 2024 college season prior
to signing. Played for the Bourne Braves in the Cape League in
2022. Named MAAC Pitcher of the Year and MAAC Championship MVP
in 2023. Underwent Tommy John surgery in March 2025 and likely
will not return until the middle of the 2026 season.
Summation: Solid pitchability
type with some intriguing pitch characteristics. Fastball is on
the light side, but had a promising velocity jump during the
2024 season, and he commands it well and it shows some carry up.
Changeup is best secondary pitch right now. Had better results
later in the 2024 season, but was facing younger competition and
ideally will advance faster in coming seasons as he acclimates
to pro ball from pitching in Canada in high school and at a
smaller, Northeast college program.
