Physical Description:
Thick,
physically mature frame. Very strong already. Minimal projection
remaining.
Hit: Starts with a wide base.
Utilizes a toe tap timing device. Long, big swing. Very
rudimentary approach. Pitch recognition skills are very basic.
Will expand the zone. Has a lot of swing-and-miss in his game
and needs to improve contact skills. Well-below-average hit
tool.
Power: Plus-plus raw power.
Generates massive raw power due to his strength and generates
impressive exit velocities when he makes contact. Power is
almost exclusively to the pull side. Extreme power-over-hit
profile whose ability to get to his power in-game is hampered by
his contact struggles.
Run: Well
below-average speed.
Field: Raw. Limited
mobility and instincts. Once saw time in the outfield, but now
plays first base only. |

Arm:
Average arm strength.
Career Notes: Tied
for DSL Red Sox program lead with 9 home runs in 2019, the most
hit by a Red Sox DSL player since at least 2006, the earliest
year for which DSL statistics are available. Participated in the
Fall Instructional League in 2019.
Summation:
Potential low minors depth player without significant
improvement with his hit tool. Has among the best raw power in
the system, but significant struggles with contact limit his
ability to tap into the power in games. Does not project to add
value defensively and is limited to first base, so future
projection is all tied up in his bat. Power could play at the
highest level, but while he will always have swing-and-miss in
his game, still needs to cut that down significantly in order to
get a shot in the high-minors.
