Physical Description: Tall,
filled-out frame. Looks the part. Minimal remaining projection.
Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm
slot starting on the first base side of the rubber. Some effort
in his delivery and comes across his body. Short arm action back
with a slight stab. Medium leg kick. Average extension. Repeats
delivery well.
Fastball: 92-96 mph. Tops
out at 97 mph. Pitch has arm-side run. Solid control and good
whiff rate. Also throws a sinker at the same velocity. Showed
more velocity during spring training 2026, and if he can hold
that velocity in the regular season, grade could increase.
Potential average offering.
Slider:
87-90 mph. Primary secondary pitch. Gyro-slider shape. More tilt
than depth. Does a good job generating chase with the pitch and
has shown bat-missing ability. Potential average offering.
Sweeper: 84-86 mph. Long, horizontal break.
Potential average offering.
Changeup:
84-87 mph. Some drop. More a pitch to generate weak contact than
whiffs. Struggles to consistently land in the zone. Potential
below-average offering. |

Curveball: 82-83 mph. Rarely throws. Vertical,
12-to-6 shape. Could be effective if used in sequence to steal a
strike. Potential below-average offering.
Career
Notes: Brother Jackson attended Georgia Tech and was
selected in the eighth round in 2023 by the Athletics. Pitched
out of the bullpen for Georgia as a freshman before moving to
the rotation for his sophomore and junior years. Played for the
Savannah Bananas in 2022 when they were still a college summer
ball team in the Coastal Plain League and were only starting to
transition to their now-famous "Banana Ball" style. Pitched for
Yarmouth-Dennis in the Cape Cod League in the summer of 2023.
Summation: Potential starting pitching
prospect who already has a four-pitch mix. Has the frame the Red
Sox have coaxed more velocity out of in the past and solid feel
for spin. Durable with solid pitchability and could have
untapped potential if his velocity takes a step forward or if he
is able to find another bat-missing secondary.
