Physical Description: Stocky
build with minimal remaining projection. Soft body that will be
difficult to maintain. Needs to prioritize his conditioning.
Hit: Starts square and vertical. Utilizes a
leg kick timing device. Fringe average bat-speed. Fluid swing,
but can get long at times, which leads to some in-zone
swing-and-miss. Pitch recognition is still a work in progress
and he is prone to chase. Potential well-below-average hit tool.
Power: Plus raw power. Already produces
high exit velocities, especially for his age. Has shown the
ability to drive the baseball to all fields. Impact has not
returned at the same level since he returned from his knee
surgery. Potential for average in-game power.
Run:
Poor speed. Not a part of his game.
Field:
Prior to his injury, showed soft hands and moved well behind the
plate given his build. After his injury, defensive ability has
regressed. Does not move well and struggles to consistently get
down on balls in the dirt. Unclear if he can stick behind the
plate long-term. Trending towards first base right now.
Potential below-average defender.
Arm:
Above-average arm strength. |

Career Notes: Trained with
Jonathan Valdez. Received the third-highest bonus in the Red Sox
January 2022 IFA class. Younger brother of former Red Sox
outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia. Was set to participate in the 2022
Fall Performance Program that was canceled due to Hurricane Ian.
Was identified by scouts as one of the better position player
prospects in the 2023 Florida Complex League, which followed an
impressive showing in minor league spring training that year.
Participated in the 2023 Fall Performance Program. Played in
2024 Spring Breakout game. After a strong first month of the
2024 season, tore two ligaments in his knee running the bases on
May 3 and missed the remainder of the season. Was still
rehabbing the injury in Spring Training 2025 and began the
season on the 60-day injured list rehabbing in Fort Myers. Began
rehab games in late May in the FCL and was activated in
Greenville on June 10.
Summation:
Potential minor league depth player. Projection is fluid and
depends on how much further he comes back from knee surgery,
which is a significant question given his physical profile and
need to work on maintaining his physique. Prior to his injury,
showed an advanced bat for his age and the ability to impact the
baseball, but has not shown the same impact ability and loud
tools since he returned. If he can improve his conditioning,
that impact could return some, but that remains to be seen.
