Physical Description: Tall,
athletic frame with long limbs. Minimal remaining projection.
Fringy athlete, on the stiff side.
Hit:
Starts open in a slight crouch. Slight leg lift timing device.
Longer swing, average bat speed. Linear swing path. Makes solid
contact in the zone. Average chase rate. Struggles against
advanced off-speed stuff but is making strides in that area.
Hits better against left-handed pitching. Potential average hit
tool.
Power: Currently a doubles hitter
that impacts the ball to all fields, but struggles to elevate
the ball at times. Average raw power, potential for
fringe-average in-game power.
Run:
Below-average speed. Will not be a major part of his game.
Field: Stiff defender with average range.
Will make the routine plays, but struggles sometimes when he has
to move laterally or charge the ball. Potential fringe-average
defender.
Arm: Slow release with a hitch
in his throw. Fringe-average arm strength and has had accuracy
issues at times. |

Career Notes: Was teammates
with Riley Greene in high school, where he was a two-way player.
Had been committed to Florida International prior to signing
with Atlanta in 2019. Entered 2023 as a candidate for the
starting shortstop role with Atlanta but was unable to land the
job out of spring training. Traded to Boston for Chris Sale and
cash in December 2023. Was considered a candidate to be the
starting second baseman for the Red Sox in 2024 but opened the
season on the injured list with a pulled hamstring. Struggled in
limited MLB exposure before hitting the injured list again in
June with another hamstring strain. Finished the 2024 season
with a strong final month.
Summation:
Potential bat-first, reserve second baseman. Ceiling of a second
division regular at second base. Needs to show he can stay
healthy for a full season. Hit-over-power at the plate and has
platoon splits with much greater success against left-handed
pitchers. Needs to improve quality of contact and refine
approach at the plate to reach his potential. On defense,
limited to second base or maybe potentially left field if
necessary. Fringe-average defensive profile at best; arm
strength and accuracy remain a concern.
