Physical Description:
Average-sized frame. No remaining projection. Athletic for a
catcher. Getting into his mid-30s.
Hit:
Fringe-average bat. Makes decent contact, able to work a count.
Hits well against left-handers, making him a good platoon and
pinch hitter candidate.
Power: Below-average pop. Hit 10
home runs in 226 at-bats with Arizona in 2017. Mostly a
contact-oriented singles hitter.
Run:
Fringe-average speed, fair speed for a backstop. Not a part of
his game.
Field: Agile, stays low. Average blocking skills. Could
improve his pitch framing. Capable defender as a major league
backup. Able to play first base and corner outfield in a pinch.
Arm:
Loose arm with solid-average overal arm strength. |

Career Notes:
JuCo All-American in 2008. Transferred to Miami rather than
signing with Baltimore. Was one of the top catchign prospects in
the Twins' system from 2011-2013, albeit not a top overall
prospect. Traded to Arizona in November 2015 for Daniel Palka.
Bounced to Seattle, Oakland, Tampa Bay, and San Francisco over
the next few years, primarily as a backup or AAAA catcher.
Opened 2021 at the Alternate Training Site.
Summation:
Good option as emergency major league depth at the Triple-A level.
Lots of major league experience. Capable to serve as a major
league backup if injruies arise. Lefty bat adds to his value as
a backup.
