Scouting Report:
Medium-sized, filled-out frame. Sidearm delivery, falls noticeably
to the third base side post delivery, kicking up his right leg. Turns his
back to home plate prior to delivery, hiding the ball well and creating
some deception. Arsenal includes an 88-91 mph sinker, a 77-80 mph
changeup, a 77-80 mph slider, and a 91-93 mph four-seam fastball. Relies
heavily on his sinker, which has a nice tail and induces a lot of
groundballs, as does his slider. Uses his changeup regularly to keep
hitters off balance. Four-seamer has some armside run and sink, but he
rarely utilizes the pitch. Sharp control - gets strikeuts. Spent entire
career in the Twins system before signing with Boston in January 2020. Has
had limited success at the major league level. Emergency up-and-down
bullpen arm with a chance to contribute for extended periods at the back
end of a bullpen.
