Physical Description: Medium to large frame,
maxed out physically. Large lower half.
Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm slot. High
leg kick. Short, quick arm action. Considerable effort in
delivery. Struggles to consistently repeat.
Fastball: 93-96, tops out at 97 mph. Average life. Has
some tail to it and will show bat-missing ability. Struggles to
consistently throw for strikes and locate it in the zone.
Potential above-average offering with refined control.
Cutter: 87-91 mph. Short horizontal break.
Solid feel and able to land it in the zone. Has better control
of the offering than his four-seam at times. Potential average
offering.
Sweeper: 79-84 mph. Long,
horizontal shape. Able to land in the zone or bury down and away
when looking for a strikeout. Potential average offering.
Curveball: 75-78 mph. 1-to-7 shape. Has
more depth and less horizontal movement than his sweeper. High
spin rate. Can really snap it off when he gets over it.
Potential fringe-average offering.

Slider: 78-84 mph. Similar velocity band to his
sweeper, but has more vertical and less horizontal movement.
Throws sparingly. Potential below-average offering.
Career Notes: Had Tommy John surgery in 2018.
Drafted by the White Sox in 2020, was traded to the Cubs shortly
before the 2021 trade deadline for Ryan Tepera. Cubs added him
to the 40-man roster in November 2023 to protect him from
selection in the Rule 5 Draft. Was traded back to the White Sox
in February 2024 for Matthew Thompson. Recalled to MLB for the
first time in June 2024. Claimed by Detroit off waivers in
November 2024.
Summation:
Profiles as up-and-down depth arm, but has some upside with
improved control and command. Ceiling of a left-handed middle
reliever. Lack of command and control makes odds of reaching
ceiling low and brings down overall projection, even if he has
major league-quality raw stuff. Throws five pitches. Also once
threw a changeup but has apparently scrapped it.
