Physical Description: Large frame. Soft body. Thick lower
half with minimal remaining projection.
Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm slot from
the first base side. Begins facing the third base dugout, then
steps toward first to start delivery. No wind-up, medium-high
leg kick. Short arm action behind. Short strider.
Fastball: 94-97 mph. Tops out at 98 mph.
Primarily throws a sinker that shows hard, boring action and
induces a high groundball rate. Will mix in a four-seam fastball
at times as well up in the zone. Command is below-average and
needs to improve. Had a substantial velocity increase midway
through the 2024 season jumping from the low-90s to the mid-90s.
Potential above-average pitch.
Slider:
83-86 mph. Slurvy with long, horizontal shape. Lacks feel and
consistency. Potential below-average offering.
Curveball: 79-82 mph. Vertical shape. Potential
below-average offering. |

Changeup: 82-85 mph.
Firm pitch that looks like a fastball he took something off of.
Lacks movement and feel. Work in progress that he uses
infrequently. Potential well below-average offering.
Career Notes: Participated in 2020 Fall
Instructional League. Participated in the Fall Performance
Program in 2021. Worked as a starter/piggyback reliever until
moving into more of a traditional bullpen role in 2023, although
the organization leaned on his ability to throw spot
starter/bulk innings in 2024 as well, at least until his
midseason velocity spike made him a more interesting
short-relief prospect.
Summation: Potential mid-minors depth
reliever, but is trending upward with recently added velocity.
Ceiling of an organizational reliever. Fastball can generate
groundballs, but has missed more bats as the 2024 season has
gone on. Secondary pitches are still works in progress. Has a
ways to go developmentally and has to drastically improve his
command and secondary offerings in order to push towards the
high minors.
