Physical Description: Tall,
wiry frame. Long limbs. Minimal remaining projection.
Mechanics: Throws from a sidearm arm slot.
Starts on the first base side of the rubber and slings the ball. Repeats delivery well. Very difficult mechanics
for left-handed hitters to pick up.
Fastball:
89-92 mph, tops out at 93 mph. Solid command-and-control
profile. Pitch shows heavy sink down in the zone. Does a good
job using the pitch to get ahead, then relies on generating weak
contact on pitches out of the zone. Generates a lot of
groundballs. Much more
effective against left-handed hitters than right-handers. Potential
fringe-average offering.
Slider: 75-78 mph. Slurvey breaking ball
with long, horizontal shape. Has substantial horizontal movement
and has evolved some during the 2023 season, taking off some
velocity and adding vertical movement. Very difficult for
left-handed hitters to hit when combined with his arm slot.
Potential average offering.

Changeup:
83-84 mph. Work in progress. Throws primarily to right-handed
hitters and shows some drop on occasion. Potential below-average
offering.
Career Notes: Dropped his arm
slot during his junior year of college. Was selected by the Red
Sox from Pittsburgh in the first round of the minor league phase of the 2022 Rule 5 Draft.
Was selected to the MLB roster and made his MLB debut in June
2023. Designated for assignment on April 19, 2024.
Summation: Potential organizational relief
arm. Ceiling of an up-and-down left-handed specialist. Has been
extremely effective against left-handed hitters throughout his
career, which gives him a chance to reach the big leagues. Lacks
a pitch to get right-handed hitters out and has struggled to get
them out during his minor league career.
