Physical Description: Average
frame with minimal remaining projection.
Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm slot from
the third base side of the rubber. Substantial effort in
delivery. Quick arm, short arm action. Head whack and falls off
hard to the first base side.
95-97 mph. Topps out at 99 mph. Pitch has a high spin rate and
has shown bat-missing ability. Has thrown strikes throughout his
college career, but command needs refinement.
Slider: 80-83 mph. Sharp 10-to-4 break with a high spin
rate. Can get on the side of it, and does not always land it for
strikes. When at its best, will flash plus potential.
Career Notes: Missed the 2018
season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Only threw 31 1/3
career innings in college due to injuries. Missed time in 2021
with back and shoulder issues. Participated in the Fall
Performance Program in 2021 as a rehabber. Had an undisclosed setback during
injury rehab in 2022 and missed the entire season.
Summation: High-risk profile, but has the
potential to develop into a major league reliever. Will show two
major league-quality pitches, but health track record is
concerning, as is lack of innings during college career.
Note: This page will be updated with a
complete scouting report after the scouting team has seen the
player in person.
