Career Notes:
Kansas City bought him out of his committment to Miami in 2011.
Came up through the Roayls system as an all-glove utility player
without the ability to drive the ball on offense. Signed with
Atlanta in 2019 and had a nice showing in Triple-A, including
improved pop. Recieved an invitation to major league spring
training in 2020 but did not play for the Braves. Did not
receive an invitation to Spring Training in 2021, but opened
2021 at the Alternate Training Site on the Development List.
Played for Team USA in the 2021 Olympics after transferring from
Team Puerto Rico, winning a silver medal. Made MLB debut with
Boston in 2021 as a call-up when Boston dealt with a covid
outbreak.
Summation:
Emergency infield depth, especially due to his versatility. To get
an extended major league look he will need to show that his
improved power in 2019 was not a fluke.
