Scouting Report: Veteran righty was an above-average major league starter for the Mets before shoulder injuries derailed his career in 2009 and 2010. Began the 2011 season in Triple-A Colorado Springs but struggled to regain his control, posting 37 walks and a 7.43 ERA in only 46 innings. Maine eventually left the team in June and considered retirement for a time before signing with the Sox in January 2012.
