Physical Description: Medium
frame, good athlete. Strong. Minimal remaining projection.
Hit: Starts square and vertical with his
hands high. Abbreviated leg kick timing device. Quick hands and
above-average bat speed. Swing is on the long side on an uphill
plane. Likes to get his arms extended. Hits the ball hard
consistently. Does most of his damage against fastballs. Pitch
recognition of secondary offerings needs a lot of work.
Struggles to make contact against secondaries and will expand
the zone. Approach is still developing. High variance hit tool.
Power: Plus raw power. Power plays best to
the pull side. Posts high-end exit velocities and has optimal
angles when he connects. How his hit tool develops will
determine his ultimate power potential.
Run:
Average speed. Not a major stolen base threat.
Field: Will play both middle infield spots and
potentially center field in pro ball initially. Played shortstop
and center at Kansas State.
Arm: Average arm strength. |

Career Notes: Was one of the
top high school players in the 2022 class in New Jersey and was
invited to the draft combine, but withdrew from the draft to
play in-state at Rutgers. Started his
college career there before transferring to Georgia State
for his sophomore year and then Kansas State for his
junior year. Father played basketball at VCU and great uncle
played for the San Francisco Giants.
Summation:
Athletic right-handed bat with a power-over-hit profile and a
chance to stay up the middle. Wide range of outcomes, largely
dependent on how his hit tool develops. Fits the type of hitter
the Red Sox look for in terms of his ability to impact the
baseball and to pull the ball in the air consistently. Does a
good job optimizing his angles offensively, but needs to make
consistent contact to reach his potential. Showed he could hit a
fastball in college, but struggled against secondaries and will
need to make major strides against them. Defensive home is yet
to be determined, but the Red Sox intend to give him a chance to
stick up the middle.
