Physical Description: Short,
stocky frame. Sturdy lower half, minimal remaining projection.
Quick-twitch athlete.
Hit: Starts
upright and slightly open with his hands high. Very brief leg
lift timing device. Short, compact swing. Very direct to the
ball. Solid feel for hit and knowledge of the strike zone.
Advanced bat-to-ball skills. Level swing path leads to a lot of
line drives. Works counts and does not expand the zone. Good
approach, knows what type of player he is and does not try to do
too much.
Power: Swing is more designed
for line drives in the gap so he can use his speed. Has shown
some pull power on occasion.
Run:
Plus-plus speed.
Field: Solid instincts
and takes efficient routes. Speed allows him to cover plenty of
ground. Above-average range. Potential plus defender.
Arm: Fringe-average arm strength. |

Career Notes: Highly regarded
prospect coming out off Glenn High School. Three-sport athlete
and was a member of the USA Baseball 18U team as a junior. Comes
from an athletic family. His late father played baseball in
college and brother and uncle played football. Originally
drafted by the Cubs in the 28th round of the 2017 draft. Missed
most of the 2018 and 2019 due to several injuries. Named to the
ACC Academic Honor Roll three times.
Summation:
Has the speed and defensive profile you look for, but future
potential will be determined by how much he hits. Has a knack
for getting on base and solid feel at the plate. Strong makeup
and work ethic. Strong leadership skills, leaves it all on the
field night after night. Type of person every organization
strives to have.
