Physical Description: Large filled-out frame. No
remaining projection.
Mechanics: Throws from a
three-quarters arm slot, starting on the first base side of the rubber.
Pitches exclusively from the stretch. Medium leg kick, compact delivery.
Short arm action.
Fastball: 88-90 mph. Sat 93-95
mph in college, but has not shown that kind of velocity in pro ball. Pitch
shows some arm-side run. Command and control are works in progress.
Potential below-average offering.
Curveball: 75-76
mph. Long, 11-to-5 shape. Flashes depth when he snaps it off. Potential
average offering.
Slider: 83-85 mph. Short,
horizontal break. Potential below-average offering.
Career
Notes: Started 2021 season in Low-A before being sent down to the
Complex in July, mostly due to roster number issues rather than poor
performance. Returned to Salem in September.
Summation:
Potential low-minors depth arm. Pedestrian arsenal with diminished
velocity in pro ball. If velocity returns, he becomes more intriguing, but
until then projects as nothing more than a depth arm.
