Physical Description: Average
build with no remaining projection. Good athlete.
Mechanics: Throws from a three-quarters arm
slot. Starts on the first base side of the rubber. Jerky
delivery with some effort. Short strider. Long arm swing back
with a quick loop forward. Quick arm. .
Fastball:
93-95 mph. High spin rate. On the straight side, but has some
carry up in the zone. Is generally around the zone, but command
still needs work. Potential above-average offering.
Curveball: 80-82 mph. 11-to-5 shape with depth
at its best. Potential average offering.
Slider:
88-90 mph. Short, gyro slider. Sharp horizontal break. Potential
fringe-average offering.

Career Notes: Was selected by
Atlanta in the 31st round of the 2017 draft as a junior, but
elected not to sign. Returned to Clemson for his senior season
and was selected by Arizona in the 6th round of the 2018 draft,
signing for well below slot for $25,000. Spent two seasons with
Arizona before being released in 2020. Pitched in independent
ball in 2021 and at the start of 2022 before signing with the
Yankees in May. Had issues with elbow inflammation in college
and finished the 2022 season on the injured list with an
undisclosed injury. Selected by the Red Sox in the second round
of the minor league phase of the 2022 Rule 5 Draft. Selected by
the Angels in the minor league phase of the 2023 Rule 5 Draft.
Summation: Potential organizational
reliever. Ceiling of an emergency up-and-down relief arm.
Fastball and curveball play well off each other north/south, and
slider adds another wrinkle to keep hitters off balance.
Fastball showed bat-missing ability and improved command and
control in 2023.
