Physical Description: Average
frame, minimal remaining projection.
Mechanics:
Throws from a high-three-quarters arm slot, starting on the
third base side of the rubber. Deceptive delivery. High leg kick
which he tucks in behind his glove arm before coming forward.
Arm hook behind. Plus extension.
Fastball:
92-94 mph. Pitch has life up. Plays better against left-handed
hitters. Jumps on hitters due to extension. Will show some
natural cut at times. Potential average offering.
Changeup: 82-84 mph. Shows bat-missing ability.
Late drop. Able to pull the string and falls off the table
against right-handed hitters when at its best. Advanced feel and
confidence in the pitch. Will throw often and in any count.
Potential plus offering.
Slider: 85-87
mph. Cut-slider with short, two-plane break. Uses primarily
against left-handed hitters. Potential fringe-average offering.
Curveball: 79-81 mph. High spin rate.
Effective when used in sequence. Not much of a whiff-inducing
pitch, more of a strike-stealing pitch designed to get ahead.
Potential fringe-average offering. |

Career Notes: Missed 2016
season due to injury. Pitched in the AFL in 2019. September
call-up for the Twins in 2021, served as an up-and-down bullpen
arm in 2022 then pitched in 43 games for Minnesota in 2023. Had
Tommy John surgery in November 2023, missing the 2024 season and
the first two months of the 2025 season before starting a rehab
assignment. Traded to Boston in December 2024 for Mickey Gasper.
Received an invitation to 2025 MLB Spring Training but did not
pitch while continuing to rehab. Was activated from the IL in
late June 2025. Was called up to Boston in August 2025.
Summation: Potential major league depth
reliever. Ceiling of middle reliever. Changeup is a major
league-quality out pitch, but has to find more consistency with
his fastball and breaking balls to reach his potential. Fastball
plays well against left-handed hitters, but is hittable against
right-handers. If he can show an improved fastball, then has a
chance to establish himself as a second or third left-handed
reliever on an MLB pitching staff.
