Physical Description: Medium frame with minimal
remaining projection. Could stand to get stronger.
Hit: Starts vertical and slightly closed with
his hands high. Brief leg kick timing device. Makes consistent
contact on pitches in the zone, but will expand on occasion.
Needs to show he can hit off-speed and good velocity
consistently. Lacks bat speed and has the tendency to drag
through the zone resulting in a lot of contact the other way.
Will take a walk. Struggles to make consistent hard contact.
Power: Well below-average raw power. Lack
of strength and hard contact limits power ability.
Run: Well below-average speed. Not a major part
of his game.
Field: Has played both
first and third base in pro ball. Profiles best at first base.
Lacks range at third and hands are average at best.

Arm: Fringe-average arm strength. Arm profiles
best at first base.
Career Notes: Son of
Red Sox legend and MLB Hall-of-Famer David Ortiz. Once played
summer baseball for the Brockton Rox with the sons of Manny
Ramirez, Pedro Martinez, Keith Foulke, and Gary Sheffield.
Summation: Potential minor league depth
player. Ceiling of a mid-minors organizational player. Upside is
limited by lack of impact at the plate. Unlikely to add much
defensive value so will have to hit. Hit-over-power profile will
rely on consistent ability to make contact. Hard worker who is
always looking to get better.
