Physical Description:
Average frame. On the thin side, but has added strength as he
has matured.
Mechanics: Throws from a
low three-quarters arm slot. Starts on the third base side.
Loose, athletic delivery. Short arm action. Hides the ball well.
Crouches before coming forward. Some effort in his delivery, but
repeats it well. Noticeable head whack.
Fastball:
89-92 mph. Tops out at 94 mph. Pitch shows sink. Velocity
slightly ticked up in 2024, but not much. Reportedly has again
in Spring Training 2025. Advanced feel for
command and control for his age. Pounds the zone and already
shows the ability to locate. Struggles to miss bats, more
something he throws to generate weak contact on the ground.
Velocity increased in 2022 from 84-86 mph to the 89-91 range,
giving hope of continued steady increases as he continued
maturing, but has only had modest velocity gains since.
Potential fringe-average offering.
Cutter:
86-88 mph. Short, horizontal break. Did not throw often in
outing scouted in 2024. Was primarily used as a change-of-pace
pitch. Fringe-average potential.
Changeup:
84-86 mph. Advanced feel and confidence. Throws with deceptive
arm speed. Shows promising bat-missing ability and is already
missing bats in the low minors. Pitch shows late dive down and
in on right-handed hitters and away from left-handed hitters.
Shows confidence and feel in the pitch and is willing to throw
it in any count to any hitter. Can pull the string on it and
take something off when looking for a swinging strike.
Especially effective against left-handed hitters. Potential
above-average offering.

Slider: 80-83 mph. Long, horizontal shape.
Advanced feel for spin with a high spin rate. Willing to use it
in any count. Very useful as a chase pitch, generating plenty of
whiffs. Potential solid-average offering.
Curveball: 76-79 mph. Pitch shows depth and tight
rotation. Solid feel and will use in any count. Has shown the
ability to bury it down-and-away when looking for a whiff or
land it in the zone. Potential average offering.
Career Notes: Red Sox 2021 Latin Program Pitcher of the
Year. Participated in the Fall Performance Program in 2021. Was
set to participate in the 2022 Fall Performance Program that was
canceled due to Hurricane Ian. Named to 2025 Spring Breakout
roster.
Summation:
Potential emergency up-and-down depth starter. Ceiling of a
back-end starter. Fastball is on the light side and is his
third-most-used pitch, but has a strong command-and-control
profile and advanced secondary offerings. Shows particular feel
for his changeup and slider and the ability to command them in
and out of the strike zone. Also does a good job repeating his
delivery and locating his fastball in the zone, but struggles to
miss bats with it. Fastball being on the light side tempers
future projection, but stands out in models due to his ability
to miss bats with his changeup and slider and strike-throwing
ability.
