| | Physical Description:
Large-framed, filled out right-hander. Broad shoulders with a
				strong upper half. Intense demeanor.
 Mechanics:
Starts on the first base side of the rubber, brings hands high
above his head. High leg kick, slow and smooth lower body
actions. Over the top delivery with whipping arm action. Falls
off balanced to first base side when reaching back.
Fringe-average control. Posts solid strikeout numbers but swings
and misses have dipped in recent years.

Fastball: Relies heavily on 94-98 mph four-seam
fastball. Above-average pitch. Also mixes in an occasional
				fringy mid-90s sinker.

Slider: 85-87 mph. Solid-average pitch. Uses
the pitch about 40% of the time.

 | | Career
Notes: Signed as an international free agent by
Cleveland in August 2004. Had Tommy John Surgery in 2010. Rule 5
pick by the Cubs in 2012, stuck with the team and eventually
became the closer in 2014. Member of the 2016 World Series
champion team. Non-tendered following the 2017 season. Two solid
season with Houston in 2018 and 2019. Struggled with Arizona in
2020. Retired within days of signing with the Red Sox in 2021.
 Summation: Reclamation project with high
leverage potential if he can find the right mix of his
				fastball-slider combo. Hasn't been
able to find that right mix since 2018. Did not perform well in
				2020 or 2021 spring training.
