Career Notes: Started his
college career at Cowley County Community College, where his
team made the Junior College World Series both seasons he
pitched and he became the team’s closer as a sophomore.
Transferred to Oklahoma State for his junior season as a
walk-on. Essentially threw only fastballs in college, expanding
his arsenal after being drafted. Did not use an agent during the
draft process. Was the only healthy member of Boston’s 2023
draft class not assigned to a team that year, but was promoted
very quickly from Salem to Greenville after six dominant outings
to start his first full season.
Summation:
Projects as an organizational reliever. Ceiling of an
up-and-down emergency depth arm. Fastball and slider both have
shown bat-missing ability in the low minors. Needs to tighten up
command and control, but provides a different look with his
short arm action and is tough on right-handed hitters.
