Physical Description:
Thin, athletic build. Frame will not support much additional
weight.
Hit: Starts crouched and
slightly open, with his hands high. Leg kick timing device.
Solid hand-eye skills, loose hands, balanced stance. Rarely
walks. Unrefined approach and consistently expands the strike
zone. Gets himself out too often by making contact on bad
pitches leading to low average exit velocities. When he squares
it up can make hard contact, especially against fastballs.
Struggles to recognize and adjust to off-speed pitches. Average
hit tool.
Power: Average raw power, but
plays below-average in game. Swing is mainly designed for hard
contact in the gaps.
Run: Above-average
to plus speed. Not the most instinctive base runner or base
stealer. Has been known to get caught on the basepaths trying
for an extra base.
Field: Fringe-average
defensive profile. Capable of playing all three outfield
positions, but best suited for left field. Plus range. Does not
make the best reads. Defense regressed in 2022. |

Arm:
Above-average arm strength. Strong enough for all three outfield
positions.
Career Notes:
Played 11 seasons in the Rockies organization, including major
league stints over five seasons. Played in the 2015 and 2016
Futures Games. Consensus top 100 prospect entering the 2017
season. Traded to Toronto in March 2022 with Adrian Pinto for
Randall Grichuk. Hit an inside-the-park grand slam at Fenway
against the Red Sox in July 2022. Was non-tendered in November
2022. Signed a minor league contract with Boston in 2023 with an
invitation to major league spring training.
Summation: Reserve outfield profile. Can play all three
outfield positions and brings some speed and contact skills.
Approach and inconsistent defense limit him from becoming an
everyday player. Could be a valuable organizational depth piece
if he opens the season in Triple-A.
