Physical Description: Tall,
sturdy frame. Thick lower half. Will have to watch his body as
he gets older. Minimal remaining projection.
Mechanics: Throws almost directly over the top. Gets
good extension. Jerky delivery with considerable effort. Arm is
short back and long coming forward. Stiff arm action. Quick arm
that can get out of sync with the rest of his delivery.
Inconsistent release point. Has a head whack and falls off hard
to the first base side. Very tough angle for hitters and gets a
lot of deception with all the moving parts in his delivery.
Fastball: Sits 93-95 mph. Tops out at 98
mph. Has among the highest IVB in the system and shows plus
carry up in the zone. Has the traits teams look for in a
fastball and has shown substantial bat-missing ability in the
low minors. Command and control need work. Struggles to get
ahead and walks too many hitters. Pitch lacks consistency from
outing to outing. Potential plus-to-better pitch.
Slider: 82-85 mph. Will flash depth and
tight rotation. Potential average offering.
Cutter: 88-91 mph. Shorter, more horizontal shape.
Potential fringe-average offering.

Career Notes: Highly regarded
coming out of high school as a catcher. Was named an Under
Armour All-American his senior year. Moved to the bullpen as a
college freshman. Underwent Tommy John surgery during the summer
of 2019. Played in the Cape Cod League with Cotuit after the
2019 and 2021 seasons. Participated in the Fall Performance
Program in 2021. Missed the first month-and-a-half of the 2022
season with an undisclosed injury. Participated in the Arizona
Fall League in 2023. Developed a significant social media
presence, providing a look at his day-to-day work as well as
discussing his real estate investment pursuits, over the 2023-24
offseason, but backed off of that somewhat during the 2024
season. Spent a little over a month on the development list in
May/June 2024, during which time he went to Fort Myers to
address his struggles to start the season. Brother, Ryan, walked
on to the team at UC Santa Barbara as a right-handed pitcher
after transferring from Santa Barbara City College.
Summation:
Potential up-and-down reliever. Ceiling of a middle reliever.
Has very intriguing raw stuff, but has a long way to go,
especially with his command and control and finding consistency
with his mechanics. Has missed considerable time with injuries
and struggled with control throughout his career. Has the size,
arm strength, and the type of fastball teams look for. Key for
development now is focusing on how to harness his stuff.
